Singapore can get better at sucking blood ;)
Some time back I had successfully got my blood
sucked. And after that first experience I figured that Singapore’s blood
inventory levels can be accessed real time and the data suggests that they need
more donors like myself. As I write the following was the inventory status:

Clearly they have a good system to take care of the
logistics. However a few simple steps like restructuring
the initial screening questionnaire and replacing it with something more
sensible could actually reduce costs as
well as improve the inventory levels described
above.

Last week I saw Kahaani. It was a good watch. The Lead
character of Vidya Balan was
beautifully etched. But what I really want to write about is about the characters
of Khan and Satyuki. They are two fellows who are poles apart from each other.
Satyuki is a
newbie cop who is a flunkie to everyone around him. His lack of authority and
his sympathy for Vidya results in he
getting emotionally involved in her matters. But despite his obvious flaws he ends
up like the mythic charioteer of Arjun who helps Vidya in her pursuits.
On the other hand Khan
is an experienced senior who knew how to work the system.
Years of experience has turned him into man highly focused on his goals but somewhat
desensitized about the human collateral effects of what he does.
Somehow the inexperienced Satyuki and the old hand Khan
complement each other and play a crucial role in developing the story. In fact had any of these two characters (Even others for that matter) acted differently the story could have taken a completely different course. As a final word, the attention to detail in Kahaani is a sign of better things to come from Bollywood :)
