Summary of ShankhNaad article "The Past of Leela Samson"

I heard of Leela Samson for the first time when I came across a ShankhNaad article, “The past of Leela Samson”. I would have ignored such a piece but this one was liked by almost 800 individuals and shared on FB a few hundred times. So I did some googling and I liked my first impression of this lady. But before I go into that let me paraphrase the my understanding of what the Shankhnaad article says.

The author was offended by Aamir Khan’s movie PK. His sentiment is well captured in his statement:  ‘PK’ takes token jibes at Christianity and Islam and otherwise dedicates itself to mocking hinduism by dishing out populist, cliche stereotypes about the Sanatan Culture of the land. 

After expressing their views on the movie the author takes the position that this malefic propaganda (aka PK the movie) was allowed by Ms Leela Samson, who happens to be the chairperson of  CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification aka Indian Censor Board). So the authors make an attempt to enlighten us of Ms Leela Samson’s dubious past. Key points quote with some paraphrasing on my part: 

1. Ability of Leela Samson wrt to her Directorship of Kalakshetra 

- Author alleges that Kalakshetra's founder, Rukmini Arundale was reluctant to admit her into Kalakshetra due to her Judea-Christian background. 

- There is also the claim that Ms Leela faked her qualifications to become the Director. There is also the implied suggestion that this happened because of her Congress connections.

2. Ms Leela's biases against Hindus

- The author accuses her of eliminating of the spiritual roots of Bharata Natyam at Kalakshetra. 

- Further he makes strong allegations of Bias against hindus during her tenure as the CBFC chairperson. 

3. The author makes the following allegations of Irregularities against Ms Leela as the Director of Kalakshetra:

- Accuses her of faking qualifications to become the Director of Kalakshetra.

- The author speaks of a CAG report that severely indicted her ways of functioning.

- Implies irregularities to the tune of crores. 

- Speaks of 16 appointments that were done defying qualification standards and institution norms.

- Despite being over age, her tenure as a Director got an extension. 

4. Misc Innuendos: Just sample the following:

- She is just one of the thousands of Congress Stooges who've been appointed by Sonia to represent (and humilate) India the world over.

- Leela was a dance teacher for Priyanka Vadra.

- Given Huge favours by Congress.

- Her own cinema knowledge was near zero . . .

The article ends with the snapshot above. If you note carefully the image consists of the following articles:

I did not understand the connection between the above articles and whatever the author was trying to say about Ms Leela Samson. Now that I have summarised the ShankhNaad article I will use my next post to refute it.
