"I value the friend who for me finds time on the calendar. But I cherish the friend who for me does not consult the calendar" - Unknown

Well it seems that I did ok and my friend will continue talking to me ;)

It so happened that Anju had booked tickets for an AR Rahman show for yesterday evening. And then a close friend’s hubby had his b’day yesterday and we planned a surprise Barbeque party for him. There was another friend who was visiting Singapore and he wanted to meet. And on top of all that Sundays is the day for housework and we usually make it a point to stay indoors on this day.

Keeping all this in mind I planned to meet my friend from India for lunch and then do some stuff around and then take him to the Barbeque party. After making him comfortable the idea was that we would push off to the Rahman show.

But then my friend from India called me the day before yesterday and threw all my planning out of the window. He had purchased USS and various Sentosa tickets and wanted me to come along. The tickets were pretty expensive and they conflicted with my previous plans. This last minute development had me pretty agitated we had a rather heated conversation on the phone.

After I kept the phone I remembered the incident mentioned in the previous entry and I decided that a disruption of the calendar is not a good enough reason to ruin a relationship. Further the calming effect of Anju ensured that I work out a solution that could accommodate everyone.

I was decided to take my friend to USS. He had to cancel the tickets for Anju while she stayed back to complete the housework. After the USS trip Anju joined me to the barbeque party and we proceeded to Rahman show.

To cut a long story short my calendar was able to accommodate last minute changes but I wonder if my lifestyle would permit me to be the friend who would disregard his calender.
