The Coke Side of Life

Phew tht was long back and now everything about IIM is near its end. The only thing left is the convocation when i will get my degree :))

The most interesting thing that has happened in the days that passed by is that i have got a job and my boss would be mightly upset if you guys drink pepsi :)) For the first nine months i would be on a training stint involving a comprehensive bharat darshan program. I would spend some time selling the crates and finally after the training period is over i would be give an Area Sales Mgr responsibility. Its going to be very different from the things that i have done till now but i guess its going to be good fun :))


Then have been seeing a lot of movies. The first movie is called Page 3. Very well made stuff. The story is perhaps an exaggeration of what happens in reality but still very much worth a see. Some quotes for you guys

Then had read a book called the monk who sold his Ferrari. The guy who wrote it must be an MBA cos the book is essentially a cut paste effort. The end result is a sambhar curry of inspirational quotes. So if you wanna read please don’t tell me later that I didn’t warn you :) In any case some interesting quotes from the book

Apart from reading and movies I have continued to keep up with my running. I can manage a few kilometers and one fine day I heard of a 10 km run being organized near our campus. There was a participation fee so I said I should chk out inside the campus before I go for the real thing and guess what I actually completed the trial run. So with great confidence I went ahead for the real thing and actually completed it :)

The Incredible Padma Aunty!!

The day before yesterday I spend more than 2 hours, totally mesmerized by the memorial service of Padma Vikraman Nayar , organized by the Singapore Malayali Association (SMA) . I have met her only once, a few years ago, but the eulogies removed any sense of unfamiliarity about her. Padma Aunty as she was popularly called was more of a background person and the extent of eulogies was disproportionate to any of the formal positions, she held within the SMA committee. And most surprisingly, all but one of the speakers on stage were males, mostly past SMA Presidents, a reflection of the authority she commanded during her life. At a personal level, I really struggle with the Malayalam Language and often felt that I was more of a Delhite than a Malayali. Senti side of me

Hi Guys, In the last few months I had a chat with some of you guys. And all of a sudden I realised that I dont have anything to talk about. Rahul and Shilpi called up most in this period and often I just did not know what to say and the forced conversation lasted for not more than a few minutes. Then the mails from regulars like Rahul(Both), Anit and Rohit have actually dried up. It used to be such a pleasure getting a mail from these guys. But somehow today all I see in my inbox is a few fwds and mailers which I very happily block. Now let me admit that Bhanu, Anit and Shuchi have been nice enough to send some thought provoking fwds. But I would be more pleased to get hold of a mail addressed to me. So i thought of asking some of you about how it felt getting my mails.
