Shaadi Season

The last few weeks had been tied up with tying up the loans and taking care of other such formalities. I was in for quite a shock when I realised that many of the banks actually did not have any educational loan facility. At least the guys at ICICI and HDFC banks dont know the existence of such a scheme even if it does exist. The experience at the PS banks was a bit different. They were not as friendly as the private banks but I guess were far more professional. As of today I guess I will be taking a loan from PNB and will most probably carry an interest rate that will be a notch lower than the official interest rates.

I am 24 yrs + and so are most of my friends. What it means is that most of you will be losing your single status soon. Last thursday I saw my dear friend Rahul losing his Bachelors. So i guess in the coming days my mails will have a new reader. The names Kusha and I must say Rahul is quite a lucky bum.

The good friday day was quite an amazing day. Got a surprise treat from my colleagues and a bunch of flowers from two good looking females. You guys should have been there. Moving around with the red roses and the good looking females was . . . I guess I will leave the rest to your imagination.

Then coming back to the question of marriage another one in the groups getting knocked off the eligible list. Shoili of all characters is getting hold of a bakra and I feel like sob sob (pun intended).

The Incredible Padma Aunty!!

The day before yesterday I spend more than 2 hours, totally mesmerized by the memorial service of Padma Vikraman Nayar , organized by the Singapore Malayali Association (SMA) . I have met her only once, a few years ago, but the eulogies removed any sense of unfamiliarity about her. Padma Aunty as she was popularly called was more of a background person and the extent of eulogies was disproportionate to any of the formal positions, she held within the SMA committee. And most surprisingly, all but one of the speakers on stage were males, mostly past SMA Presidents, a reflection of the authority she commanded during her life. At a personal level, I really struggle with the Malayalam Language and often felt that I was more of a Delhite than a Malayali. Senti side of me

Hi Guys, In the last few months I had a chat with some of you guys. And all of a sudden I realised that I dont have anything to talk about. Rahul and Shilpi called up most in this period and often I just did not know what to say and the forced conversation lasted for not more than a few minutes. Then the mails from regulars like Rahul(Both), Anit and Rohit have actually dried up. It used to be such a pleasure getting a mail from these guys. But somehow today all I see in my inbox is a few fwds and mailers which I very happily block. Now let me admit that Bhanu, Anit and Shuchi have been nice enough to send some thought provoking fwds. But I would be more pleased to get hold of a mail addressed to me. So i thought of asking some of you about how it felt getting my mails.
