You learn from mistakes but what if the person concerned is me and if the mistakes have a tendency of being so damned unique then what do you do?.

I have already mentioned the details of the previous three cricket practice sessions. I went for the fourth time and the my magnetism worked again.

I had another practice session today. So I went to bed after typing all those things I woke up early today, I mean really early. And then I went all the way to the stadium and this time had a very incident free practice session. We had a catching practice session and guess what an important member of the team commented that my reflexes were very good. Though its another matter that the ball had a tendency of passing me each time I tried to get hold of it. So after the whole thing was over I went to a friends place and had a wash up. And as the clocked ticked 9 I rushed out as the office was a good 15 minutes away. After moving some distance I realised that I had forgotten my wallet out at the friends place. So dutifully I went back and got it and headed back. Again after covering a good distance the fellow with me pointed out that I was looking a bit different. Soon he realised that the strap around my neck certifying my being a HCL employee was missing. So we went all the way back and did not find the thing. So we did the next best thing. Headed to the stadium and had a good look around. Failed and defeated we headed back to the office.

Now replacing the ID card and the access cards to three different building will cost quite a sum. I am hoping against hope that I do get the stuff and not lose any money.

Well then we had some training session. And suddenly I fell asleep. All of a sudden I woke due to some sudden activity in the class. The guys were having a heated discussion and suddenly there was doubt in my mind. So I spoke up my doubt with a hidden agenda of telling my trainers that I was listening. The entire class shut up at my question. The fellow looked straight into my eyes and very pitifully gave me the explanation. And then he offered all of us a break.

Very happy and a bit confused I looked around at the faces which were screaming with laughter. Then someone explained that my question was the center of the discussion since the last half an hour and had already been discussed thoroughly.

So I sign off for the day with a lost id card and a lot of sleep time to be covered.

The Incredible Padma Aunty!!

The day before yesterday I spend more than 2 hours, totally mesmerized by the memorial service of Padma Vikraman Nayar , organized by the Singapore Malayali Association (SMA) . I have met her only once, a few years ago, but the eulogies removed any sense of unfamiliarity about her. Padma Aunty as she was popularly called was more of a background person and the extent of eulogies was disproportionate to any of the formal positions, she held within the SMA committee. And most surprisingly, all but one of the speakers on stage were males, mostly past SMA Presidents, a reflection of the authority she commanded during her life. At a personal level, I really struggle with the Malayalam Language and often felt that I was more of a Delhite than a Malayali. Senti side of me

Hi Guys, In the last few months I had a chat with some of you guys. And all of a sudden I realised that I dont have anything to talk about. Rahul and Shilpi called up most in this period and often I just did not know what to say and the forced conversation lasted for not more than a few minutes. Then the mails from regulars like Rahul(Both), Anit and Rohit have actually dried up. It used to be such a pleasure getting a mail from these guys. But somehow today all I see in my inbox is a few fwds and mailers which I very happily block. Now let me admit that Bhanu, Anit and Shuchi have been nice enough to send some thought provoking fwds. But I would be more pleased to get hold of a mail addressed to me. So i thought of asking some of you about how it felt getting my mails.
