March 13,

Having a friend like rahul does help esp when it comes to taking a lift. But then like coin he too has an other side and I bore the brunt of it the day before yesterday.

After spending almost 5 years with him you become a true indian. You start believing in the concept of the IST ie the Indian Standard Time. So when I reached the IIC at 11.33 (my report time was 11.30), I felt that I was dot on time, but not before long I realized the folly of my assumptions.

There was another chap who reached one minute before me and he was asked to return home. When I heard of it I had all the butterflies that you can think of. But then the other side of the coin tossed up and I went and had a word with the guys around. They relented and asked me to come at 3 in the afternoon but the other guys who reached one minute earlier than me was told to report the next day.

So I had lots and lots of time and the guys in the three O Clock batch turned out to be very unlike me. They were at the venue at around 2. So I took the opportunity of psyching all the guys present out there. And believe me it felt great to do that to the IITD and DCE guys. In fact the most interesting exp was with a fellow who was working with Hughes. And then I kept my promise with the lodhi gardens but the whole thing did not go as well I would have liked it to.

The gd interview went of well. The gd topic was "Will liberalization lead to slavery". There were seven guys in the group. For the first seven minutes of the gd yours truly was silent. And then I spoke for two minutes and I was heard. My interview happened about 3 hrs after the gd and the first question that was asked was in relation to a comment that I made during my gd. Then the fellows went through each one of my certificates and looked at all my marksheets and grilled me on it. Then asked me about my religious beliefs, my self, the pashupati temple in kathmandu and the just concluded strike in kerala. They also asked me about ayodhya and all the things that you can fit into a half hour slot.

So after that I went to office had one of the worse days till date. I attended about 17 calls and each one was worse off than the previous. One fellow just put the phone down when he realized that I was an Indian. There were other horror stories but I won't bore you with the details.
