20 Jan,
In the last mail I talked about the heights of something now i will carry the heights series a bit forward. We guys out here have a five-day week and have the weekdays off. But I felt that that is a bit unfair to the company so I come in yesterday (i.e. a Saturday) quite early in the day (by my standards) and now it is around 5'O clock Sunday morning. My pending work ensures that I will be in the office premises for at least around noon today. So guys that is what I call the height of you know what.
Then let me tell you the story of a very intelligent guy who once psyched me out. This smart ass had got a GRE score of around 2350 and had been placed with Infy and I had the misfortune of hearing about his achievements straight from the horse's mouth. And now this chap will join Spectramind as one of my juniors. Like it?
I am doing something very interesting. If successful I will be the proud owner of a Hero Honda Passion and will also ending up taking less loan for my PG. Now I am dying to puke out the whole details but I guess you all will have to wait till the whole thing gets done.
I won't bug you guys with any further management details I've got enough responses that makes your feelings about the issue very clear.
Now I was getting bugged up sitting at one place for so long so I decided to move my ass and have a walk. Part of the reason why I took a walk was because I had a hearty dinner. I guess it was my personal best when it comes to the quantity consumed. I am sure you would have disowned me at the cafeteria had you guys been there.
Any way as I told I went for a walk and believe it was a walk for it last for about three quarters of an hour. During the course of my midnight adventure rahul's brethrens accosted me. First they barked but when they realized that I was the great ex-burper's friend they gave me a friendly wag of tail. The next surprise was finding a motor-boat in the middle of the industrial estate. There are other interesting things but then you know I am a very kind hearted person who doesn't wish to cause any annoyance to his friends.
Then as you must have guessed I had been going through a very hectic schedule. I had my fms and iift on the 13th and they went off pretty decently. It so happened that my iift center was in vasant vihar and fms in the north campus and between the two tests I just had a two-hour gap. Now in the middle of the test I suddenly realized that I had to go to the campus and I had no conveyance so in my characteristic style I got up and very politely screamed whether someone could give a lift till the north campus. I got some expected frowns and such but fortunately and unexpectedly one fellow from DCE agreed to make the mistake of giving me a lift. And so thanks to him and also to myself I reached my center well before time.
The iift thing was actually a joke. The paper had no seal and the guys started the paper as soon as they got their hands on it. I looked at them and said that I shouldn't stoop so low. So there I sat for a couple of minutes and then when nothing happened I asked the invigilator when to start. I got a very forthright reply "Any time". So poor me started with the paper and realized that, that was just the beginning. Every ten minutes the lady felt the need to enlighten us all. First she told us to fill us our names in the answer sheet. Then she told us that in question no. so and so the attempt should be read as attempted. She persisted with a few more gems like these. Anyway despite their best attempts I ended up finishing the paper decently. I attempted about every 6 out of 7 questions and came out bloating. Soon my dce friend bought me down to earth by telling me that there was no negative marking and so he attempted all the questions and left none.
I have met some very interesting people out here. But the person on top of this list is a person called Laxmi. She has an uncanny resemblance to Arundati Roy. She's just the person whom you wouldn't expect in a call center. An extremely well read person who would make you feel that khalil Gibran is your next-door neighbour. Jus kidding. Apart from dancing, singing, painting she can also do all the things that you can think of. In fact she even goes to the extent of designing her own clothes. Apart from that she's a Java Certified Professional (not that she needs any certification). But the thing that's amazing about her is her dedication. Spending about 16 hrs in office and that too for a call center job is an example of that. Inspired by her I decided to catch up on my pending work and stuck back at office. So thanks to my latest burst of dedication you can always rely on me if you have any cd-rom or XP related problems.
