Gyan session inspired by midnight wanderings

June 18, Some of you may be aware of my midnight wanderings. A few minutes back i was back from one such adventure. To spice up things let me tell you that the time is around three early morning. My mother last evening told me that she wanted me to go to the batra hospital and since it was around 6:30 she wanted me to accompany her. Sensing nothing fishy in it i said ok and headed towards batra hospital in a rickety auto-rickshaw with my dear old mother. She got of a few meters after the bus stop and instead of getting into the hospital she went into the orthodox chruch situated right next to the hospital. Some of you guys would say big deal! And actually it is because after 1996 i have been to the chruch only about a couple of times. The church that we go to has a tuesday evening mass and it usually last till around after eight in the night. But even god was aware of my habits and he had the mass wrapped up within five minutes of my entering the church. Thus failed another o...

Me at it again

Hi Guys, June 12, Last sunday i went to chattarpur mandir. It is indeed a huge structure and rather different from your usual temples. One of my office colleagues Sangeeta is a regular at the temple so me and three others decided to join sangeeta at the temple before I leave delhi. After the visit Sangeeta want to purchase a few things for her brothers. First she bought a shirt and took my suggestion for the shirt. After choosing the shirt I kinda pitied the guy who was going to wear a shirt chosen by yours truly. Anyway the gift was wrapped up and we had our lunch and you know what I again did not pay a single penny. Then we went to the green park market and got a watch for Sangeeta's other brother. And as we were parting all the guys surrounded me and handed the shirt to me as a parting gift. It was quite a touching gesture and I will remember it for a long time to come. Later in the day I went to the NSD with Shilpi the museologist to see a play titled "Janeema...

Goodbye delhi

June 3, On 30th I had resigned from my company. In some ways it was unsettling. Here I was getting comfortable with the setup. And now I am getting into something about which I have little idea. I know I would miss the whole gang. Jus hope that I get a group in bangalore that is as good as it was in noida. Then its actually adieu from me for sometime. It will be sometime before I write again. I go to kerala on the 12th and from there its hi bangalore. During this one month period I probably wont have access to a computer. But I promise to update you all as soon as possible about the spicy curries and the tea gardens I visit in kerala. Take care, Shijo

Shoili Aunty's marriage

June 2, Then its not Sudi alone who is doing something really out of the way. Some who comes quite close is Shilpi. She intends to do a PG program in Museuology. It took me some time to get the spellings and the pronunciation right. She's already done a couple of PGs and intends to add a few more to her resume. Apart degree collection she proof-reads huge manuscripts and kinda manages a publishing house. After doing all that she goes on and does some broadcasting work with AIR and she is part of a few theater groups. There are other things that she does but the reason for her inclusion today is that she is a big prankster. Something like the devil behind the face of a saint. Among her recent pranks was getting Shoili married without the bride getting to know about it. There was another character who completes the conspiracy. And that's Rahul. This fellow is a natural entomologist who like shilpi collects degrees as a hobby. For starters he did his pg in management and th...
