Non-veg tea

Jan 20, Most of the HCL office are pretty spic and span. But the eserve building is an exception. There are so many tales to tell but what takes the cake is what happened to me when i went for a cup of tea. In my cup of hot water i found a leg piece. An intern with us had a look at it and said that it looked like mosquito. Not long after she stood corrected when i pointed that it once belonged to a cockroach. The icing on the cake soon followed. Soon after we identification process we saw a man spraying baygon on the vending machine. So if anyone of you has weight problem like me then all you have to do is spend some time in the HCL eserve building. This is the twentieth day of the year and I have already been to the cinema hall twice. Yesterday we saw tuxedo at priya. The circumstances under which we saw the movie reaffirms my faith in myself. The day before yesterday my friend tapan made a plan to see a movie. Some of the fellas wanted to go to PVR. So tapan da (a one tim...

Oracle installation wisdom

Hi Guys, Jan 18, I have been having a very busy time. I left for office yesterday at around 9 in the night and today i returned at one in the afternoon. Before you get ideas let me tell you a bit about my so very hectic schedule. I wanted to do some work regarding BLOBs and CMP beans. There are few complexities involved but I will spare you the details The interesting part of the work was neither the CMPs or the Blobbys but the effort i put into the preparation of the ground for the real work. To do the work i intended to do you need a database. And normally such things are taken for granted. You have it in almost all the machines. But as luck would have it I had messed up mine thanks to no mean efforts to my mentor. I guess i messed up my registries so badly that my original oracle cds refused to install properly. So yo I went to work and I must have changed, modified or deleted at least 250 registry entries. To make matters interesting i had applications running on my machi...

Great new beggining to a new year

Jan 1, 2003 When I was a student I used to make a mistake in the month of jan. On the top of the work assignment sheets where I marked the date i used to get the year wrong. Even after graduating to the electronic format I still made the same mistake. So before anything else a very happy new year to all you guys. I spent the first few moments of the new year in a very unique way. I was in office. Almost all the guys were off to their hometown or had taken leave. But poor me with my boss and three others were still in office the early hours of Jan 1 year 2003. We are a group of 29 guys and right now we operate from the HCL eserve premises. So our parent company took pity on us and send us a mega cake weighing 3 kilos for 5 guys. Under normal circumstances that would have been okay but sadly i was on a diet. Despite that we 5 ended up gobling half of the whole thing, credit mostly due to you know who. Then with almost half of that remaining I had a flash of an idea. Inspir...
